It’s the new year and many are writing resolutions and reflecting on what they would like to have in this. Another, year. I believe that resolutions should be a daily routine and we should act them out not just reflect.
Hence the problem we’ve become so programmed that just the tradition of New Year’s has become another control mechanism of mediocrity and dreams deferred. That’s right I said New Year’s resolutions are for chumps who fail to get shit done on a daily. Few are written down, and less are shared with others because most don’t believe they will be successful. If they did, they would not wait each year for the ball to drop to get things done. They would slay a dragon on a regular. We owe it to ourselves, and if they’re on purpose, we owe it to each other. Shit, we owe it to ourselves to be our best US, and that should be enough but let’s establish a reason why.Over the years of my studying people, a few things have been certain, most are wandering aimlessly but when tasked to be their best because of a life or death situation most acquiesce to the moment. When people’s backs are to the wall they tend to respond at a higher level. Well, this can happen all the time if we understand our existence to be one of global importance. One which is to find cures to diseases, end homelessness, world hunger or provide clean drinking water to those without. Resolutions should be a daily routine and we should act them out not just reflect. We each have a role in making this life, this world, a better place for all and that’s the resolution I live by.
